Guest Artist - Emilie Houssart

I had a disastrous drawing session last week; I eventually rubbed out the face of the nude I was working on and replaced it with a pie dish... Everything was going wrong.
(Lucky this week's drawing was a success - it needs another hour or so of work before I can publish it here.)
I was feeling despondent so I started looking for tutorials on how to draw in charcoal and I was also looking for inspiration. In Google i searched for "Charcoal nudes."

In in doing so I found these Beautiful Nudes by Dutch painter Emilie Houssart (currently in Texas) - you can see her work here:

Take a few minutes to go over to her website and explore her drawings and paintings.

To whet your appetite, take a look at these spectacular drawings:

If you have any favorite artists that have examples of beautiful nudes, please leave a comment, or send an email telling me about them.

  1. gorgeous. your comment about turing the face into a pie made me laugh out loud!

  2. Well Kelly, I'm glad I brought happiness to you, even though deep inside I'm still growling in frustration!
